The short version
This is a small consulting site. It has no user accounts, no shopping cart, and no payment processing. I don’t sell your information, and I don’t share it with advertisers. What I collect is limited to knowing which pages get read, plus whatever you deliberately hand over by booking a call or subscribing to the email.
What gets collected automatically
Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and articles people actually read. It sets cookies in your browser and records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you’re on. It does not tell me who you are.
You can opt out entirely withGoogle’s opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works fine either way.
Fonts. The body typeface loads from Google Fonts, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads. The heading typeface is served from this site directly and involves no third party.
What you give me on purpose
Booking a clarity call. The scheduling form on the contact page is run by Calendly. When you book, you give Calendly your name, email and whatever you write in the notes, and it passes that to me so I can show up to the call. Calendly handles that data underits own privacy policy.
The weekly email. Subscribing sends your email address to ActiveCampaign, which is what I use to send the newsletter. You are only added if you fill in that form yourself. I don’t add people who book a call, email me, or download something. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, it works immediately, and I don’t ask why.
Emailing me. If you write to me, I have your email and whatever you said in it. That lives in my inbox like any other message.
What I don't do
- I don’t sell your information. There is no circumstance in which I would.
- I don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- I don’t run advertising pixels or retargeting on this site.
- I don’t add you to the email list because you booked a call or wrote to me.
- I don’t collect payment details here. Client invoicing happens elsewhere.
Who else touches it
The services this site depends on, each with their own privacy terms:
- Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps standard server logs
- Google Analytics, for the visit counting described above
- Calendly, for scheduling
- ActiveCampaign, for the newsletter
- Google Fonts, for one typeface
That’s the entire list. If it changes, this page changes.
How long it's kept
Analytics data expires on Google’s own schedule, currently a rolling window of about fourteen months. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Booking records and emails I keep while there’s a working reason to, and clear out when there isn’t.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, and the services it relies on are established companies with their own security practices. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. I keep what I collect to a minimum partly for that reason.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to me from the contact page and I’ll do it. I don’t require a form or a reason.
If you’re in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you specific rights to access, correct, erase, restrict and port your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. The same request process applies.
If you’re in California or Nevada, you have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. I don’t sell it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you’re welcome to ask me to confirm that in writing.
Children
This site is for people running businesses. It isn’t directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does changes, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top. I won’t quietly broaden what I collect and leave the old text sitting here.
